Music Information
Private Lessons are offered in Piano, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar,
Violin and Voice.

Why private lessons?
This enables the student to have a far superior atmosphere of learning. It
enables the student to learn at their own pace and instructors can work on
individual weaknesses and strengths.
Private lessons offers a great opportunity for in-school band and orchestra
students to enhance their technique and progress at a much faster pace -
without the intimation of a large group setting.
Will students perform?
Yes - Recitals will be conducted at least once per year
Do students participate in
competitions?
The instructor will select intermediate to advanced students to participate
in Music Teachers National Association yearly competitions.
Where will the lessons be conducted?
All music and voice lessons will be conducted in private music rooms with
viewing windows at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts
What age should my child start music lessons?
- Piano - Age 6 & up
This class involves learning all of the fundamentals of playing the piano
and reading music
- Acoustic Guitar - Ages 8 & up
This class involves learning all the fundamentals of playing the guitar -
basic techniques of position, fingering, chords and reading music
This class is also offered in small group settings of 6 students.
- Classical Guitar - Ages 11 & up
This class involves learning the advanced concepts of finger style guitar
and reading music
Introduction to Voice – Ages 6, 7 & 8
This class involves instruction in building foundations that last and
developing essential skills for growing voices.

Voice – Ages 9 and up
This class involves instruction in building a foundation, developing proper
singing techniques and ensuring the proper use of the voice (posture,
breathing, warm-ups, tone, diction, rhythm, etc.)
- Violin – Ages 6 & up
This class involves building a solid foundation of basic technique of the
violin.
Tuition
$95.00 per month for 1/2 hour private lessons
$25.00 Registration Fee is due upon registering for classes

Clay Jolly
Voice
Clay Jolly has performed as a
singer/actor in North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. He is
most noted for his roles as Almaviva in
Il Barabiere Di Siviglia,
Ottavio in
Don Giovanni,
and Pluto in
Orpheus in the Underworld.
Additionally, he has performed other roles in opera houses and theaters
around the US and in Europe and as a soloist in concert and recital
ensembles. Jolly is most recognized as an Oratorio soloist performing the
works of Handel, Bach, Mozart, and Orff. He recently received
admiration and several requests for his interpretation of the tenor solos
from Carmina Burnana,
by Carl Orff. He has performed with Christy Lee, David Dillard, Bob Dylan,
Sylvia McNair, Don Neuen, Martha Shaw, Areitha Lockhart, Andre Thomas, and
David Brensinger, and the Atlanta Singers for concert and recital
performances. He has worked with directors Mike Beecham, Malcom Frazier,
Michael McConnell, Patrick Young (Covent Garden), and Lorenzo Malfatti. He
has recorded with Atlanta Singers, the Spivey Hall Children's Chorus, and
various live recordings for NPR. Recently, he has directed shows and operas
for amateur and professional theaters throughout Georgia and the southeast.
He is sought after as a clinician, director, judge, coach, and performer for
workshops, choirs, shows, pageants, and churches. He has also coached
singers for the popular television show American Idol. His students have
performed throughout the southeast in various venues from Spivey Hall to
Turner Stadium. His awards include the Catalani Award for his role as Don
Ottavio in Don
Giovanni at Puccini's historic opera
house Teatro di Giglio in Lucca, Italy. He also received an award for his
work with I Solisti di Lucca in the same city. Mr. Jolly is a principal
soloist for Druid Hills Presbyterian Church.

Eric Clay
Piano/Acoustic & Classical Guitar / Beginning Voice
Eric Clay, member of the Music Teachers National Association, has eighteen
years experience as a professional musician and teacher. Several of his
former students are music teachers and industry professionals. In addition,
Mr. Clay is also a mentor to beginning music teachers. His instruction is
well rounded with emphasis on performance skills and music theory. Mr. Clay
holds summer music intensive workshops in songwriting, improvisation and the
study of classical composers for all levels of students. Mr. Clay is
currently studying advanced gospel piano and is an experienced accompanist
for church and school functions.
Mr. Clay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and is
currently working toward his master’s degree in elementary education at
Georgia State University.
