5. Placement & Advancement
of students is strictly decided by the professional staff of Georgia
Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts and is not based on the desires
of the parents.
It is typical for your child to spend more than one to two years in a
level.
6. Hip Hop 9-11 Requirements
- In order to promote well-rounded jazz technique, all Hip Hop students
ages 9-11must be enrolled in a one hour jazz technique class. Hip Hop is
a style of jazz and will only be taught to this age group as an
additional class to the trained jazz dancer.
7. Pre-Professional Level Requirements
all Pre-Professional level ballet students are required to take a
minimum of 2 Pre-Pro level ballet classes per week. All Pre-Pro Level
Jazz & modern students must be enrolled in ballet. It is typical to spend 2-4
years in each level.
8. Pointe Students are
students currently enrolled in P-level ballet classes. These students
are evaluated (after age 10) on an individual basis in order to be
placed on pointe. Pointe students must take a minimum of 3 ballet
technique classes per week. GAD takes special care in placing students
on pointe as it can cause permanent damage to a child if student is not
technically sound or strong enough for pointe work. We do not put
students on pointe within their technique class setting as students
should receive a full barre and class before pointe work. Pointe classes
are in addition to students technique classes.
9. Inclement Weather Closings
- we follow the Fayette (for PTC location) County & Coweta (for Newnan
location) County School systems for all inclement weather closings.
Classes missed may be made up within the same month.

GAD presents annual performances for each student to participate.
Tickets for each production may be purchased via the GAD website in
March. Ticket fees are for auditorium rental, sets, additional
