Guided by the belief that dance serves as a powerful vehicle for growth in the early years, Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts advocates for the integration of dance education into the lives of young learners. Recognizing the immense potential of a well-structured and highly regarded dance curriculum, GAD emphasizes the importance of early exposure to quality dance programs as a foundational element in unlocking a world of opportunities and fostering a future brimming with promise for every child.
Director Sherri Davis created all aspects of the Early Childhood Program including our Early Childhood Presentations that you see today. The goal of the Early Childhood Program is to inspire young dancers to be creative and comfortable with movement. We believe in celebrating each potential dancer to build self-esteem through the art of dance.
Mommy & Me - Age 2This class is especially designed for the age 2 student with an accompanying adult. This class is designed to introduce the beginnings stages of structured movement along with self-expression and an introduction to music. This class is also designed for the parent as well . . . to increase mobility and exercise. Parents can wear anything comfortable.
All music is age appropriate and designed to uplift children as they dance and move. DRESS CODE Girls - Pink leotard, Capezio theatrical pink seamless tights, pink Capezio ballet shoes with elastic sewn in. Short pink skirt may be worn if desired, but is not required. Hair must be worn up and away from the face. Creative Movement - Ages 3-4This class is especially designed to expand dance related motor skills for ages 3-4 by developing coordination and self-expression through simple dance movement and songs. This age appropriate, fun, and educational introduction to ballet and movement allows for increase in self-awareness and physical mobility.

Creative Movement Students are a part of the Early Childhood Program of Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts. Creative Movement students will participate in their very own performance in June. This performance is designed to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of our Early Childhood Program Students. Combo Ballet & Tap - Ages 4-6A one-half hour ballet and one-half hour tap class designed for ages 4 -6.
This class is designed to introduce students to ballet and tap in an age appropriate, fun-filled method of instruction. The class is structured to introduce the beginning disciplines of dance. All music is age appropriate and designed to uplift children as they dance and move. Combination Ballet Tap students are a part of the Early Childhood Program at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts. Combination Ballet Tap Students will participate in their very own end-of-year performance in June and will require only one costume. This performance is designed to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of our Early Childhood Program Students. DRESS CODE Girls - Pink leotard. Capezio theatrical pink seamless tights, pink ballet shoes with elastic sewn in and black patent tap shoes. Hair must be worn up and away from face. Pre Classes - Ages 5-6Pre Classes are specifically designed for students ages 5- 6. These classes introduce the student to one-hour dance disciplines on an age appropriate level involving fun and games intertwined with technical instruction. Classes are one hour in length and are available in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro.

DRESS CODE FOR PRE-JAZZ/PRE-HIP HOP Any color leotard, black jazz pants (not crop pants), Capezio or Bloch black lace up or slip on jazz oxford. Hair in ponytail. DRESS CODE FOR PRE-BALLET Girls - Light Pink Leotard, Ballet Pink Capezio tights, Pink Capezio or Bloch. Pink Skirt is optional. DRESS CODE FOR PRE-ACRO Any color unitard, tan tights, Half dance shoe. Hair in ponytail. Boys - Black shorts, White T-Shirt, Black socks, Black Ballet Shoes ALL ITEMS AT THE DANCER'S BOUTIQUE INSIDE THE GAD STUDIO.
